I'M JILL

♪ “I’m just a small town girl…” ♪ (anyone old enough to know that song)?

I grew up in a small town in a medical family. So I learned early to ignore my pain, toughen up, and just battle on through.

Now who can relate to that?

Interestingly, pain doesn’t like when you ignore it. It doesn’t like when you think about it too much either. It’s a pesky attention seeker.

But learning how pain works was the first step in helping me change my endometriosis pain.

MY STORY

My husband and I endured many rounds of assisted fertility. I experienced many miscarriages (6-7) and a burst ectopic pregnancy, emergency and laparoscopic surgeries. We went through the process of surrogacy (only to have it fail), the process of egg donor (only to have it fail as well).

The mental and emotional, physical and social sides of me were all challenged… for many long years. But these trials and tribulations forced me to either give up and give in, or be inquisitive and curious about what these lessons could teach me.

I have come a long way through this journey! I am a proud mama of Kaden (est. 2011 - conceived by IVF). Using pain science strategies on myself I no longer suffer from period pain, and my career and passion as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist was born!

I love travelling with my family, exercising outdoors, and spending time with my girlfriends. I love even more that my endometriosis doesn’t stop me from doing the things that I enjoy.

If you're ready to build a life you love as well, I am ready to lead the way.
